I’m excited to share that I have passed thePL-900 Power Platform Fundamentals certification! This certification not only validates foundational Microsoft Power Platform knowledge, but also opens doors to opportunities in automating business processes and building modern solutions.
After graduating from the Microsoft Power Up Programme (read more about my experience here) with a score of 100%, I decided to set my sights on the PL-900. I dedicated evenings and weekends to Microsoft Learn courses and tackled practice exams to strengthen my skills in areas needing improvement.
With each practice exam, my scores gradually improved:60%, 75%, 82%, 86%, 92%, and finally 96%. That’s when I knew I was ready to book the exam.
One great advantage these days is that certifications are proctored remotely—no test centers necessary! Taking the exam at home made the experience much more flexible and comfortable.
Tips for Taking the PL-900 Exam
-
Take your time:Read each question carefully before answering.
-
Use the review feature:If unsure, make your best guess and mark the question for review, so you can revisit it later.
-
Check your work:Use remaining time to review both flagged and other questions to build confidence in your answers.
The PL-900 exam lasts about45 minutesand includes roughly33 questions. Once you submit, your results appear almost instantly (I was happily greeted with balloons and a congratulatory message!).
In the UK, the exam usually costs around£60. However, by completing the Microsoft Power Up Programme, you receive a voucher for a free PL-900 or PL-200 exam.
Now that I’ve completed the PL-900, I’m excited to begin preparing for thePL-200 Functional Consultant certification—the next step in my journey.
If you’re considering Microsoft Power Platform certification, I encourage you to take the plunge. It’s truly worth the time and effort!
